Life as we know it, is about creating new memories and experiences. During this lockdown, how and what you spend your time on dictates your personal growth. Last Friday, I had my FIRST experience doing a Live IG workout session with @flyproject.co Being the adventurous person that I am, I said YES to the opportunity to encourage more people to exercise now which is crucial in an unprecedented time like this. I was paired with an instructor @lye31 and as a perfectionist, I requested the routines of the workout days before the session to get myself familiarised with the moves. Gotta thank my personal trainer @kevinkhaandor for being so patient with me while training me to get all my forms correct. We trained and trained for 5 days straight before I felt ready for it. When the big day came, I was a little nervous to be honest as I have not done it before. I mean, I enjoy working out a lot but to assist in a workout session, is a whole different ballgame altogether. I wasn't very confident with myself and afraid that I wouldnt be able to keep up with the routine. What really helped was the moral support I gathered from my friends who told me that I can! The session started out okay but along the way our wifi connection got unstable, the video started to lag and we had to attempt the live session 3 times! Viewership dropped, which happens because we know how annoying bad connection can be. But we knew the show had to go on so we kept going and pushing. Really thankful for those who tuned in to the very end. You guys were amazing!! Thank you for making my "secret" dream come true!! I hope you all will continue to be active! For those of you who've just embarked on this fitness journey, please do not stop. It can be discouraging when you can't perform certain routines but trust me, if you keep practising and showing up, your body and soul will thank you for it. My favourite quarantivity! 🏋🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️ Everyone is looking for something to do during the lockdown to keep sane. For me, the answer to my sanity is always exercise! Today, I did an online personal training session (for the very first time in my life) with @kevinkhaandor! I really enjoyed it because; 1) I got to see Kevin’s face and catch up with him after 3 weeks. He’s bald now and claimed that he was going to replace Vin Diesel for the next Fast and Furious movie 🤣 2) I miss the feeling of being tortured by Kevin! He wanted me to do 100x lunges today but I managed to negotiate it to half the amount of the reps! You can DM me if you’d like to know more about my art of negotiation 😉 3) I had Kevin there (virtually) to make sure that I got all the routines right and not ending up hurting myself due to incorrect postures! 4) While working out alone can be a completely great way to focus on yourself, I always prefer to have someone next to me to encourage and motivate me when I start to lose momentum. I’m glad that Kevin is always giving me the right push! 5) I had a really bad muscle cramp in my leg in between sets and Kevin was ‘there’ to tell me exactly what I needed to do to soothe the aches! 6) Notice I keep repeating Kevin’s name? Well, he’s just a really great trainer and i think it would be nice to give credit where credit is due 😊 @kevinkhaandor I’ve made a compilation of some of the workouts I’ve done the past 2 weeks!
